I was forced to quit Ragnarok Online since I didn't have my own PC and Internet connection when I started college. Playing at an Internet café eats a lot of money too.

I see a lot of people saying play sports...to me that's just trading one game for another. Try reading, learning an instrument, and like someone else said above - nature hikes. Partying can lead to even worse addictions if you are not careful, I know this first hand. I'd rather be a MMO junkie than an alchy or druggie any day.

I'm thinking of doing photography just so I can have a more productive and emotionally fulfilling hobby.
You should also know that smoke and drug addiction are hardly ay different from MMO addiction. it has been proposed for inclusion in the next version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) according to Wikipedia.

The answer is to have an active real-life, that way gaming never becomes your number one priority.

well having an addiction can wear off when the time comes, but the problem is that you don't know when it will happen

Go to Amsterdam. They have a rehab center for gaming addicts there.
